About High Heaton Library

High Heaton Library is a Newcastle City Council branch library on Newton Place in High Heaton, serving the north of Heaton and the surrounding neighbourhoods. Alongside books and newspapers, it lends audiobooks, board games and more, and staff can help with reservations and the BorrowBox eBook and eAudiobook app. It also runs bookable children's crafts and events and is a designated Safe Place for people with learning disabilities.

The library offers free WiFi, free public computers and a scanner for up to three hours a day, plus printing and photocopying, and as one of the city's Wellbeing Hubs it provides hot and cold drinks, device charging, and information and advice. It is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday mornings, with a short lunch closure on weekdays, so opening times are worth checking with the council before visiting.
