Whitley Bay Rockcliff RFC is a community rugby union club based at Hillheads on Lovaine Avenue in Whitley Bay, with teams for adults and young players. The club's ground and clubhouse are a short walk from Whitley Bay town centre and its Metro stations, which are on a direct line from Chillingham Road in Heaton.
The club hosts the Whitley Bay Beer Festival, which usually runs over a long weekend in late August; the 2026 festival took place from 28 to 30 August. It features cask ales, ciders, gin and rum, beers from local brewers, street food and live music, with proceeds supporting rugby development at the club.
