Newcastle Register Office, at the Arches Reception in the Civic Centre on Barras Bridge, is Newcastle City Council's registration service for births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships. A death that occurs in Newcastle, which includes Heaton, is registered here, and the office operates by appointment only, so you need to book before attending; a death should normally be registered within five days unless it has been referred to the coroner.
