About Armstrong Allotments Association

Armstrong Allotments Association runs a community allotment site in Heaton, on land next to Armstrong Park with entrances on Crompton Road and Glenridge Avenue. Members grow fruit, vegetables and flowers on individual plots in a green setting on the edge of the historic park and the Ouseburn valley, making it part of the wider network of green space linking Heaton Park to Jesmond Dene. Its position just off Heaton Road gives local residents easy access to gardening space close to home.

The association operates a shop stocking gardening essentials such as compost and fertiliser, open to both members and the surrounding neighbourhood on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Prospective plot-holders can enquire about membership through the association directly. As a member-run site it supports the local community's interest in growing, offering an accessible way for residents to take on and cultivate a plot beside one of Heaton's most historic parks.
