About Ciccarelli at Paddy Freeman's Park
The café at Paddy Freeman's Park reopened in July 2026 under Ciccarelli, the Italian gelato business that started with a single ice cream van in 1966 and has grown into an award-winning North East name. It serves Ciccarelli gelato alongside hot and cold drinks, light snacks and refreshments.
Newcastle City Council announced plans for locally sourced cakes and a refurbishment of the café during the winter months. The park has a boating lake, lawns and a play area, and a small pay-and-display car park off Freeman Road.
