Fresh Thursday: Elf Traps and Shunya
Manchester improvising duo Elf Traps, blending spiritual jazz, glitchy electronics and jungle, with support from electronic producer Shunya.
About This Event
Elf Traps are Rob Turner (formerly of GoGo Penguin) and Liviu Gheorghe (formerly of Matthew Halsall's band), whose improvised sets weave drums, analogue synths and laptops into a mix of spiritual jazz, glitchy electronics and jungle. Support comes from Shunya, the project of multi-instrumentalist and producer Alan Keary, whose classical violin and jazz bass background feeds into electronic music shaped by Manchester's scene. Doors are at 7pm with music usually starting about an hour later. Fresh Thursdays also offer a capped dinner option, which often sells out.
