Community Kitchen at Star and Shadow
A monthly pay-as-you-can vegan meal open to neighbours, with repair and craft activities alongside.
About This Event
The Community Kitchen is a monthly mutual-aid meal that the Star and Shadow started in September 2022 in response to the cost of living crisis, run in solidarity with the surrounding Shieldfield community. Volunteers open the building and serve a hot vegan meal from 6pm. It runs on a pay-as-you-can basis and nobody is turned away for lack of funds. All food is vegan and allergens are signed. Activities have included a Fix-It Cafe, the Woolly Mammoths knitting club, a sewing club and a barbershop. Children are welcome with a responsible adult.
