Panto! Beauty and the Beast at the People's Theatre
The People's Theatre's Christmas pantomime, written by Tom Whalley, runs across nine days in Heaton.
About This Event
Belle is a bright young dreamer with a head full of adventure. When she becomes the prisoner of a horrible Beast, her hapless father and her best friend must rescue her from his enchanted castle, home to talking crockery and a pair of wise-cracking salt and pepper shakers. Tom Whalley's script turns on whether Belle can see past the Beast's exterior, and on true love's power to break a curse. The run opens on 12 December 2026 and plays through to 20 December, with matinee and evening performances on most days. Running time is roughly two and a half hours including an interval. A relaxed performance is staged separately on 15 December.
