Beauty and the Beast: Relaxed Performance
A relaxed performance of the People's Theatre's Beauty and the Beast pantomime, adapted for audiences who benefit from a more informal, sensory-friendly environment.
About This Event
On Tuesday 15 December 2026 the People's Theatre presents a Relaxed Performance of its Christmas pantomime, Panto! Beauty and the Beast. Relaxed performances are designed to welcome audiences who may find a conventional theatre visit challenging, including people with autism, sensory and communication needs, or learning disabilities, along with their families and carers. These shows typically feature a relaxed attitude to movement and noise in the auditorium, reduced levels of sudden loud sound and bright lighting, and the house lights kept at a low level rather than full darkness. The warm, non-judgemental atmosphere lets everyone enjoy the story of Belle and the Beast at their own pace. The performance is part of the main 12-20 December 2026 run of Beauty and the Beast at the People's Theatre in Heaton. Tickets and the exact start time are available through the theatre's website or the box office on 0191 265 5020.
