About Mushroom Works
Mushroom Works is a creative studio complex and gallery in the Ouseburn Valley, Newcastle's creative quarter, on St Lawrence Road. It provides affordable studio space to a diverse group of professional artists and makers, among them jewellers, furniture makers, illustrators and textile artists, giving independent creatives an affordable base within one of the city's most vibrant arts districts.
Alongside the working studios, the venue runs a gallery with exhibitions and hosts regular open-studio events where visitors can meet the resident artists and buy work directly from them. There is also an online shop selling art, gifts, homeware, jewellery and prints, and the space can be hired for events. The mix of studios, gallery and shop under one roof makes it both a working home for makers and a place for the public to discover and support local creative work.
